Unless you have a massive man cave or games room, it can be difficult fitting in all the games you love to play. You will quickly run out of space and money trying to cram them all in.
This is where the multi game tables come into their own. Also know as combination game tables, they are exactly that, one game table with multiple game combinations so you can enjoy your favorite games but you only require the space for one table.
The best multi game tables have a number of options to choose from, so it’s down to you to pick a table with the games you enjoy playing. For me, pool and ping pong would be a must. For you it may be pool and foosball, or air hockey and ping pong, or all four of them!
To help you choose the best combination game table for your needs, we have put together reviews of some great options at different price points to suit most people’s budgets. We have also included a buying guide that highlights some of the most important things to have on your mind when you are looking for a new table like this.
But first, let’s launch into our multi game table reviews.
Best Multi Game Table Reviews
We found five options to consider if you are considering a purchase. So, without further delay, let’s dive in.
1. Fat Cat Pockey 3 in 1 Table
You get: Pool, Air Hockey and Ping Pong game options.
- Ping Pong Table Top can be stored under the table when not in use
- Solidly built table.
- Quick and easy game rotation table changeover.
- Comes with all the required accessories.
- Choice of colors – red, blue, green and tan
- Size: 80″ L x 44″ W x 32″ H
- Weight 268lbs
- Easy to assemble
Our favorite reasonably priced 7ft multi game table is the Fat Cat pockey 3 in 1 Table. It comes with 3 game options – I know, the clue was in the name.
It has 3 of my favorite games, Pool, Ping Pong and Air Hockey. At 7ft, it is big enough to provide a great game experience for all 3 games.
As well as 3 games you also have a choice of 4 cloth options, red, blue, green and tan.
The table and playing surface is designed to flip between two sides – pool is on one side and air hockey is on the other. There is also a table tennis conversion top that can be placed on top of either the pool or air hockey side.
When not in use, you simply store the table tennis top below the main playing surface.
The Fat Cat Pockey includes the accessories required to play all of the games, including 57 inch pool cues. One point to note is the pool table does not come with a slate bed surface.
However, this keeps the weight manageable when flipping between games, which, by the way is very easy . The air hockey, unlike some combination games does include an electric blower to keep the puck levitated.
The ping pong top can fold into three pieces for easy storage. If I am honest, i would prefer the ping pong top to be one solid unit, however it still a great add-on.
If ping pong is your main game, you may want to consider purchasing a more professional top, otherwise this a great choice fo family fun.
2. Playcraft Danbury 14 in 1 Multi Game Table
You get 14 different table games.
- 14 Games to choose from including pool, ping pong, foosball, hockey, basketball and much more.
- Really sturdy construction with 4″ thick legs.
- Adjustable leg levellers.
- Excellent value for money.
- All accessories supplied.
- Foosball sticks are also sticking out.
- Size – 56″ L x 30″ W x 35″ H.
- Weight – 220lbs.
The Playcraft Danbury 14 in 1 Multi Game Table is one that includes a wide range of games, including a hoop for shooting baskets. It also includes foosball, air hockey, pool, table tennis, shuffleboard, chess, checkers, backgammon, Yahtzee, dominos, poker and pinochle.
While most games are on the smaller end to fit in the normal size of the table, you’ll be pleased to learn that the table tennis topper is oversized and sticks out past the edges of the table. This table is solidly built and is heavy.
It will take two adults to change from foosball to the flippable pool or air hockey table. Most of the games are stored within the unit, however the ping pong top is too large and will need to be stored separately.
One possible downside to the table is that the foosball sticks are always there sticking out of the side. That being said, this will make a great addition to a small man cave where space is a premium.
3. Fat Cat 3 in 1 Flip Game Table
You get pool, air hockey, and ping pong.
- 3 Game Options – pool, ping pong and hockey
- Sturdy construction to withstand exuberant play.
- Flip table between pool and hockey. Ping pong sits on top of either
- Hockey table graphics
- Includes all accessories for play.
- Size – 80″ L x 44″ W x 32″ H.
- Blower for air hockey could be stronger.
Another offering from Fat Cat sticks with the classic table games, pool, air hockey and table tennis. The six-foot table is set up to flip around. One side has a pool table set up and the other has air hockey.
Additionally, there is a table tennis topper that can be placed on top of the pool table side of the set up. The table tennis topper can be stored under the table when it isn’t in use, though the table can’t flip while the topper is stored.
One word of caution – the ping pong top comes in 3 pieces. Instead of the join being at the net as with a 2 piece top, there are joins on each side of the net which means that unless perfectly flat the ping pong ball can shoot off at different angles if it hits the join.
4. Sunnydaze Décor 10 Combination Multi Game Table
You get 10 different table games.
- 10 different games including – pool, hockey, foosball, table tennis, shuffleboard.
- All gaming accessories are provided.
- Each top stores below the table for space-saving storage.
- Simple to Assemble.
- Size – 41.25″ L x 24″ W x 32″ H.
- Aimed at the younger market but plenty of fun for adults too.
The Multi Game Table from Sunnydaze Décor is a great multi game table for kids. It comes with 10 different games and is small enough to fit in a bedroom, as well as a games room or man cave.
Now you might be asking why I have I included a kids version instead of a full size version. Well that’s because not all man caves are the same size and room could be limited.
Plus, you can still have a lot of fun with these small versions. The games include slide hockey, foosball, pool, shuffleboard, table tennis, chess, checkers, bowling, cards and backgammon.
So if you have limited space in your man cave but want to include a combination game set for simple fun for you and the kids, this isn’t a bad choice.
5. Fat Cat 7 ft. Phoenix 3-in-1 Billiard Table Review
You get Billiards, Slide Hockey and Table Tennis.
- Quality made, durable.
- Nice looking.
- All accessories included.
- Reversible table top.
- It’s a bit on the heavy side.
The 7-foot Fat Cat Phoenix is a great choice if you’re just looking for the three key games. It’s well-made and fairly easy to assemble (you’ll need help, though), and should measure some 84L x 46W x 31.25L inches when fully assembled, weighing about 240 pounds (again, get someone to help you carry it if you decide to move it).
The legs have leveler, so you can adjust them to accommodate for any imperfections in the floor.
You’re looking at a 3-in-1 table with reversible tops, so we’re technically looking at a hybrid, although it’s actually one fixed part (pool table with drop-pockets and rubber bumpers), with another part that fixes on top (slide hockey and table tennis on the reverse).
There’s no motor for the air hockey for the simple reason that this is not AIR hockey – it’s slide hockey (aka glide), meaning it relies on the smoothness of the MDF surface rather than air to move the pucks. In a way, it’s closer to the original game than the air-cushioned version.
Is it the best multi game table on our list? It’s certainly close, but for me the Fat Cat Original just takes it because of its axle game changer. Both models will enhance any game room.
Combination Game Table Buyer’s Guide
Game Selection
The first thing that you need to look at is the games that any given table can handle. Undoubtedly, you’ve come up with a game or two that is most important for you and a table that can do 14 different things is no use if it doesn’t hit your most important games.
After making sure the games that you really want are there, take a bit of time to investigate how many different games the table has. There are some set ups that claim to give you 15 or more games, but deliver poorly on all of them (not all 10+ games full into this category).
You will get a lot more use out of a table that does 4 games well than one that does 10 poorly.
Finally, consider if the game set ups will interfere with each other. For example, putting an air hockey table on top of a pool table most likely won’t cause any issues, but placed on a foosball table you might have some difficulty if you have to move along the sides due to the foosball rods.
Available Space
Apart from value for money, the other main reason to purchase combination game tables is that they take up less space the have several single option game tables. They do still require space though.
So make sure you measure your available space and purchase a table with a footprint that allows room to play each game option without hitting walls or other objects.
If you’re looking for that perfect piece for your man cave, something that would really tie the room together, you might want to check out combination game tables, aka combination table, aka multi game tables.
Granted, they’re not rugs (props to those that get the reference), but you’ll grow to like them.
Now, even if you have no inkling of what a game table is, you probably have already guessed that a multi game table designed to let you to play, that’s right, multiple games.
Two games are more than enough to qualify a game table as a combination table, though the number could go up to 14, possibly even more. In general, the design of these tables will resemble that of their traditional counterparts that let you play a single game.
The transition from one game to another should theoretically be easy-breezy, though it really depends on the craftsmanship.
Depending on how this switch is done, there are several types of combination tables, as you can see below.
What Types of Multi Game Tables Are There?
Painting with a broad brush, we can divide the combination tables into three categories or types – attachable top, flip and hybrid.
You can pretty much guess what the shtick with each of these is, but let’s explain it for those still not in the know.
Attachable Top Combination Game Tables
This type of combination table features a fixed top that is intended for playing a certain type of game, be it foosball, table tennis, or, more often than not, billiards.
It’ll also come with a number of other parts that you fix on top of that, typically made as a single piece, with very little in the way of locking mechanisms or special fixtures.
Pretty much all you have to do is place them on top, making sure whatever protruding parts fit into whatever holes the table has, and that’s it.
The higher end ones will have some sort of hidden drawers to let you store these interchangeable parts, but usually you’re looking at two or three of these pieces, at most, so storage shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Flip Combination Game Tables
Tired of losing to your little brother at a game of foosball? Well, just flip the table. Now that the obligatory pun is out-of-the-way, we can get on with describing the flip multi game tables.
The top here usually features some sort of turning mechanism that allows you to, well, flip it, and then lock it in place once it’s fully turned.
As you might’ve already guessed, this type is pretty much limited to two games, one on each side (usually billiards on one side and air hockey or table tennis on the other).
Hybrid Combination Game Tables
Much as the name would suggest, hybrid multi tables take something from both the attachable top and flip tables.
There will be a top part that flips, plus at least one attachment to go over that, though more often than not it will just be the one.
Usually, it’ll be billiards and air hockey on the flip, plus table tennis as the attachable piece.
Kids & Adults
You’d think that small combination tables are made for kids, and large ones for adults, but you’d be wrong.
There are no age or skill requirements when choosing the size, and the only thing that actually dictates whether you’re going for a 5- or 7-foot long table is how much space you have available.
Keep in mind that these puppies aren’t exactly designed for pubs and bars, but private homes, kids’ rooms and man caves.
How to Determine the Budget?
Most folks start with the budget and then try to find something that might fit within that budget, but this is oftentimes a mistake, and it’s definitely the case with combination tables.
Your first concern should be something that is solidly built and that wouldn’t swell or deform when it takes up water.
That said, you shouldn’t really go overboard and shell out thousands of dollars on something that’s liable to get damaged due to excessive use.
That’s a Wrap
You should now be well-informed to determine which is the right multi game table to find a home in your man cave.
Remember, you’ll want to consider not only the games that the table will support, but how easy it is to swap between games and if you’ll need extra storage for the other pieces that aren’t in use. As well as a or quick buyer’s guide, we have highlighted our top 5 picks for these set ups.
